My mother has a "fabric store" in our basement in Ohio. I could ask her if we could use some of it. However, before I call her, I need to check in to make sure i have the right kind of fabric in mind. I'm thinking anything cotton, polyester, linen stuff. Also, should I ask for specific colors? Let me know. ~CCaiomhe

Polyester = worst fabric ever. Horrible for dag in every way.
Doesn't really keep you warm in the winter, makes you sweat like a pig in summer, and feels like crap. Also, looks like crap.

Duely noted. What other kinds of fabrics would you suggest?

Any types of linens and most types of wool are the most period (especially in the viking age, which granted is not everyone's period). Cottons are fine and dandy as well. Biggest thing to remember is that fabrics with as little synthetic fiber as possible are best. The more synthetics in the fabric, the less "real" it is. They tend to be hot and itchy/uncomfortable, not to mention not doing much to "wick" whic is to say pull moisture away from the body. So, when looking at fabrics, the general consensus is that non-synthetics are definately the way to go.
